Ingredients
pizza dough (see below)
  • 2 fuji apples thinly sliced
  • cup ⅓maple syrup
  • 350 g shredded Italian blend cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon cut into thick pieces
  • cup ½roasted garlic cloves
  • 100 g blue cheese
Pizza Dough
  • 400 g Plain Flour
  • 2 tsp dried yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
  1. Place flour, yeast and salt in a bowl and mix.
  2. Gradually add the water and olive oil then knead by hand for 7-10 minutes until the dough is smooth.
  3. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with cling wrap. Set aside in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes to an hour until it doubles in volume.
  4. Knead dough gently for a few minutes to remove some air.
  5. Preheat oven to your highest setting.
  6. Place the sliced apples in a small bowl and pour the maple syrup on the sliced apples and set aside.
  7. Divide the pizza dough ball into 4 sections, reserving half of the dough for another use. Stretch the dough and place on a small baking sheet, working the dough into a rectangle. If the dough springs back, let it rest for a few minutes then continue to spread it into the corners of the baking sheet.
  8. Layer the dough with half of the shredded Italian cheese then top with slices of the apple, half of the bacon, garlic cloves and chunks of blue cheese.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden. Drizzle with additional maple syrup, cut and serve immediately.
